OTOMO LUMBER

OTOMO LUMBER is a long-established lumber store founded in 1905. Corporate mission is "The coolest lumber shop in the world."

We finished the main business of sleepers. Now we run the real estate business and postal business. Furthermore, we will challenge to establish and manage HANAMAKI TOY MUSEUM as a part of realizing a new generation of timber shops centered on IT and forestry.

TOKYO TOY MUSEUM

TOKYO TOY MUSEUM opened in 1984 as an affiliated facility of the Institute for Art Education in Nakano, Tokyo.

It is a museum with four features: "see", "borrow and play", "make" and "find" toys.

In 2008, TOKYO TOY MUSEUM relocated to Yotsuya Daiichi Elementary School of the former Shinjuku Ward and has evolved as an art museum connecting generations.

TOKYO TOY MUSEUM oversees HANAMAKI TOY MUSEUM.

Marukan Building

The department store opened in 1973 in Hanamaki city of Iwate Prefecture. It closed in June 2016 due to changing times and aging buildings.
However, only the dining hall on the sixth floor and 1st floor were reopened in February 2017 by the signature campaign of local high school students, considering the administration of Hanamaki Yamorisha Co., Ltd and Establishment and crowdfunding of Kamimachiya Yamaorisha Co.,Ltd.
In December 2018, DEPARTMENT SKATE SHOP & PARK opened on the first basement floor as a base for “a town where the unique industry grows in Hanamaki”. And in early summer 2020, the HANAMAKI TOY MUSEUM will open on the second floor.
